Derron Sandy is one of the leading art innovators in the Caribbean specialising in performance poetry. Sandy manipulates words and stretches the context of performance to create resonating products in the entertainment, education and advertising sectors. 

Sandy's personal philosophy allows his products to be accessible to all ages ranges and wide demographics. Sandy has delivered performance based products such as performances, workshops and academic creations throughout the region and internationally.

Born in 1987 in Trinidad, Sandy was always closely involved in community and creativity via his local church and primary school. As a child to two educators, the way in which information is dispensed has always been a passion of his. The ability to use creative means to share data is what makes Sandy stand out amongst his peers.

He studied English Language and Literature with Education at the University of the West Indies and spent years as a tutor and Secondary school teacher. He completed his MA in Literature grounding his creativity with sound academic foundations.

Sandy is a leading brain in innovation with the oral arts, creating curriculum, ad campaigns and productions. Sandy also designed the concept of Cool Creatives which delivers academic content online with a never before seen gusto and theatrical approach. 

Sandy is an avid writer and has been listed for different awards. On this level, his art heroises characters that embrace oppressive systems and overcome them through introspection of the current historical moment. The art is tragic, passionate, comical and enlightening.
